Les Male

Les Male is a veteran of the global commodities industry, with over 30 years of leadership experience across exchanges, trading infrastructure, and financial markets. He most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX) and the Dubai Commodities Clearing Corporation (DCCC), where he oversaw one of the Middle East’s largest derivatives platforms, managing daily trading volumes of approximately $2 billion across FX, metals, hydrocarbons, and equity contracts.

Les brings deep expertise in risk management, trading systems, and market development to Apolonia Capital. In his current role, he supports cross-border transactions and institutional client engagement, with a focus on structured products, capital markets, and commodities-linked strategies. His extensive experience across global exchanges and advisory platforms enables him to provide clients with world-class solutions backed by operational excellence.

He also serves as Board Director to Royal Ghana Gold and leads ELEM Capital, a strategic advisory firm serving exchanges and financial institutions worldwide. With a track record of innovation, governance, and strategic expansion, Les plays a pivotal role in shaping Apolonia’s financial markets strategy across emerging and frontier economies.
