Samer Kamal
Managing Director - Sustainable Infrastructure and Decarbonization
Samer Kamal is a pioneering figure in sustainable infrastructure and a recognized impact leader in the Middle East. He founded Bee’ah, the Sharjah Environment Company, and served as its Managing Director from 2007 to 2011, where he raised over $200 million and managed nearly 17,000 tons of waste per day. Under his leadership, Bee’ah transformed Sharjah’s municipal waste systems into an integrated circular economy model. He has since developed several privately financed sustainability ventures, including Dubai’s first privatized residential wastewater treatment plant, which recycles 25,000 cubic meters of water daily.
Beyond infrastructure development, Samer has advised leading regional and global corporations—including Nestlé Middle East & Africa, Air Miles, and Tadweer—on their circular economy and decarbonization strategies. As Chief Sustainability Officer at Averda, he played a key role in repositioning the company from a traditional waste manager to a leader in circular and decarbonized services, helping corporate clients meet their sustainability targets.
Samer currently advises several investment groups and incubators focused on sustainability. He is a Senior Advisor to Nadeera Technologies, an ADQ-backed waste tech company, and also advises Infinitum Energy on renewable infrastructure initiatives in emerging markets. Named one of the top UAE sustainability leaders by Gulf News, Samer continues to be a thought leader and advocate for economic value creation through decarbonization and circular innovation.
