Samer Kamal

Samer Kamal is a well-known impact professional in the sustainable infrastructure sector internationally. Early in his career, Samer founded Bee’ah, The Sharjah Environment Co., serving as Managing Director from 2007 to 2011. Having raised over USD $200 million and handling approximately 17,000 tons of waste per day, he led the transformation of the waste management sector from municipal collection to
advance, integrated circular economy. Samer subsequently developed several privately funded sustainable infrastructure ventures in the region including the first privatized residential wastewater treatment plant in Dubai, recycling 25,000 m3 of water daily.
He has also advised regional and multinational corporations on their circular economy and decarbonization strategies, including Nestle Middle East and Africa, Air Miles, and Tadweer, the Center of Waste Management. Samer has also previously served as Chief Sustainability Officer at Averda, driving its transition from traditional waste management to circular services, helping businesses decarbonize.
Samer is an advisor to a number of investment groups and start up incubators committed to sustainable infrastructure. He is a Senior Advisor at Nadeera Technologies, an ADQ-funded waste tech company driving the decarbonization of packaging, as well as advising Infinitum Energy, where he is supporting exciting renewable infrastructure projects in developing markets.
He was recently named one of the top UAE sustainability leaders driving change in the region by Gulf News, and continues to be recognized opinion leader and columnist on the economic opportunities inherent in circularity and decarbonization.
