Les Male is a veteran of the global commodities and derivatives industry, with more than 30 years of leadership experience across exchanges, trading infrastructure, and financial markets. He most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange and the Dubai Commodities Clearing Corporation, overseeing one of the Middle East’s largest derivatives platforms. During his tenure, the exchange managed average daily trading volumes of approximately USD 2 billion across foreign exchange, precious metals, hydrocarbons, and equity derivatives.
Les brings extensive expertise in risk management, exchange technology, and market development to Apolonia Capital. In his current capacity, he supports cross-border transactions and institutional client engagement, with a focus on structured products, capital markets solutions, and commodities-linked investment strategies. His international experience across exchange leadership and advisory mandates enables him to deliver institutional-grade solutions grounded in operational discipline and regulatory governance.
He also serves as a Board Director of Royal Ghana Gold and leads ELEM Capital, a strategic advisory platform supporting exchanges and financial institutions globally. With a track record defined by innovation, oversight, and strategic expansion, Les plays a central role in shaping Apolonia Capital’s financial markets strategy across emerging and frontier economies.
