Samer Kamal
Managing Director – Sustainable Infrastructure and Decarbonisation
Samer Kamal is a pioneering leader in sustainable infrastructure and a recognised impact strategist in the Middle East. He founded Bee'ah and served as its Managing Director from 2007 to 2011, during which he raised more than USD 200 million and oversaw the management of approximately 17,000 tonnes of waste per day. Under his leadership, Bee’ah transformed Sharjah’s municipal waste system into an integrated circular economy platform. He subsequently developed a number of privately financed sustainability ventures, including Dubai’s first privatised residential wastewater treatment plant, recycling approximately 25,000 cubic metres of water daily.
Beyond infrastructure delivery, Samer has advised leading regional and international organisations, including Nestlé Middle East & Africa and Tadweer, on circular economy frameworks and decarbonisation strategies. As Chief Sustainability Officer at Averda, he played a central role in repositioning the business from a traditional waste management operator to a provider of circular and decarbonised solutions, supporting corporate clients in meeting ambitious sustainability targets.
Samer currently advises multiple investment groups and incubators focused on sustainable innovation. He serves as Senior Adviser to Nadeera Technologies, an ADQ-backed waste technology platform, and advises Infinitum Energy on renewable infrastructure initiatives in emerging markets. Recognised among the UAE’s leading sustainability figures, he continues to champion economic value creation through decarbonisation and circular innovation within Apolonia Capital’s sustainable infrastructure strategy.
