Principal – Capital Formation
Sophie Elizabeth Jones leads distribution and capital formation at Apolonia Capital, having established and built the firm’s Investor Relations and Business Development functions. She oversees institutional capital strategy and directs engagement across Limited Partners and General Partners.
She evaluates and approves investment opportunities presented to the firm, working closely with fund managers across private and public market strategies to assess positioning, regional relevance and institutional viability. She structures capital introductions, aligns LP capital with differentiated mandates and drives fundraising processes from origination through to allocation.
She also supervises the bankers responsible for institutional coverage, ensuring disciplined execution across investor engagement, due diligence coordination and mandate progression. Her remit includes mandate selection, allocator mapping, commercial structuring and long-term capital relationship management.
Based in Dubai for nine years, she maintains an established network across family offices, wealth managers, private banks and regional institutional allocators, bridging international and Middle Eastern capital through strategic positioning and relationship-led execution.
Her background combines analytical and negotiation training with commercially driven execution. Postgraduate study in finance at Oxford, the London School of Economics and Harvard complements hands-on experience across capital markets and alternative investments.
